Loud, Bright and Wet

We had thunder, lightning and enough rain to drown a rat last night. It was amazing. I love a good storm. Minus the tornadoes thank you very much.

I've done a few things lately. Mostly just doodling around. As usual I'm stuck on flowering weeds and birds. And I can't seem to remember to sign the silly things. Oh well.

Impatiently waiting for spring

It's cold!
Someone sent me a text today with a wolf on it -
It said -
Groundhog said 6 more weeks of winter. So I ate him!
Good for the wolf I say -
StooPid groundhog. 

So. . . I was messing around with some file folder scraps.
I heard that.  Flowers again you say - Yes. I like flowers. I don't know why the colors are so washed out on these. They are actually really bright. My scanner possibly. Hope you can see them OK.

 And Yes, I do need a massive dose of SPRING!

Surprise! Two posts in one month!

 Seriously, this will make the second time this month!

Can you believe the SNOW~ I really feel for those in the middle of it. I hope you're all staying safe and warm inside. Not here! No kidding, it was 80 degrees today. I was outside in a tank top! My Honey Suckle bush has buds on it! Poor thing will most likely freeze next week! Screwy weather. I saw, (and heard) geese going NORTH! Boy are they confused.

OK, on to the art.

My Altered Playing Card deck is coming along nicely. Claudine has such good ideas! I'm really loving my deck but I do wonder how many times I can use them before those with better memories than I have remember which card is which?  I need a cool way to display them. Any ideas?

M is for Miracles

The Journal Challenge this past week was the letter M for Miracles. It was hard to decide what miracle. Life is filled with miracles. God breathes out miracles. Anyway, butterflies. . .

This page was just a messing around page. Trying to paint more realistic flowers. I dropped the paintbrush with blue on it so had to sling on some more.

This is an ATC's for a swap 'pen and ink'.  It's done with watered down India ink. Not sure I like it. It needs. something. background? darker color? trashed! 

On a blog that, I'm sorry,  I can't remember where or who . . .  The lady made an inner critic owl doll with a zipper for a mouth so she could shut him up.  here's mine.

This was suppose to be my calico but I goofed so it became someone else.

I saw some art online somewhere, (before I even knew there was a Pinterest) I'm sorry that I didn't keep her information but she does the most beautiful cat faces and flowers with pastels on a black background. I was really impressed and inspired. Then I forgot! Which I'm pretty good at!

Last week I watched a video on making an album from envelopes. At  Follow the Paper Trail  . Most of the stuff she used I don't have so I improvised. I made the cover out of a frozen pizza rolls box. It's really heavy cardboard, and covered it with brown grocery bag paper. I have no clue why I made it. I'll never use it and I don't know anyone that would use it. I worked on it for three days but I enjoyed messing around with it. Here are some photos of the finished product. I took them with my phone so I can use that as an excuse if they aren't so good!

It's hard to see the colors but the pages, flowers and tags are all black, beige, tan and white.I didn't photograph the tags. They are just blank with a small pull tab on them. I made all the flowers and leaves with heart punches and added clear and mirrored rhinestones in the flower centers. I've had this paper a while and never knew what to do with it. Some of the pages have flocking. I think it came out pretty well.
