I've been working on a few things. I made four ATC's and did a few loose pages for a journal.

I have been trying to improve my faces. Here are the latest ones. I may add more to them but . . .

Just messin around

I haven't been doing much art lately. I got on a movie kick and watched every single Hayao Miyazaki  - Studio Ghibli movie I own, (nine of them, although there are a few more I want). But, I finally got through all of them and started being arty again.

I made two ATC's for the monthly lottery on ATCFUN. I used glitter. I never use glitter. But they were pretty dull and needed some bling don't you think?

I also did two watercolors on gessoed cardboard (an old frozen pizza box actually)! I almost always listen to music when I'm sitting at my desk being creative or not being creative as the case may be! I'm not really as scrambled as I seem with these two pictures. I just tend to put my music on shuffle all and just let it play.

Christmas Birds

Here are a couple of pictures I did for a Raven lover. The inspiration came from some clip art.

This chickadee was made  for another bird lover. Seems like everyone I know loves birds of some sort.

Sleepless Night & Muses

 It's been a while since I've made ATC's but I couldn't sleep the other night so I spent the time making some quick ones.

I made up an Owl goodie bag for a fellow Owl Lover. I made her an 8 page Christmas booklet with Christmas tags inside. I will have to make more of them. I really like them but I need them to be BIGGER! This was a swap on the Yahoo group, ATC FUN    I didn't join the swap but I did watch the video and make the booklet. Muses to keep her creativity flowing. The nine daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne, the Muses: Calliope, Clio, Euterpe, Thalia, Melpomene,Terpsichore,  Erato, Polyhymnia,and Urania in Owl form of course!

And of course a really grumpy owl. All my owls come out grumpy. Don't know why.

envelope book

Last week I watched a video on making an album from envelopes. At  Follow the Paper Trail  . Most of the stuff she used I don't have so I improvised. I made the cover out of a frozen pizza rolls box. It's really heavy cardboard, and covered it with brown grocery bag paper. I have no clue why I made it. I'll never use it and I don't know anyone that would use it. I worked on it for three days but I enjoyed messing around with it. Here are some photos of the finished product. I took them with my phone so I can use that as an excuse if they aren't so good!

It's hard to see the colors but the pages, flowers and tags are all black, beige, tan and white.I didn't photograph the tags. They are just blank with a small pull tab on them. I made all the flowers and leaves with heart punches and added clear and mirrored rhinestones in the flower centers. I've had this paper a while and never knew what to do with it. Some of the pages have flocking. I think it came out pretty well.

The Last Page

I finally finished the last page in my October Journal. The prompt was to draw the outline of a skull and fill it with things that remind you of a loved one.  This is for my Dad, "Pop ZJ"

October 31 memories of a loved one

My Dad was one of those guys that could do anything he set his mind to, but would rather be fishing. We spent some great times on the banks of  fishin' holes. Most times fishing far into the night and sleeping in the truck or on the ground. He started smoking when he was 9. He died in 2001 of emphysema and lung cancer, He was 79.
