Blowing in the Wind & postcards

I really enjoy watching things blow in the wind, trees, grass, chimes, ribbons and even laundry hanging on the line. I made some prayer flags to hang out and blow. They were just done on an old white sheet with markers since I live on a hill and the wind blows like crazy so I knew they wouldn't last long. So what happens? The wind died down and the sun bleached them out! But I have enjoyed them. I will certainly make more to hang out in the Spring but with better materials.

I've also been busy painting. These are just small 4X6 on watercolor paper,  I have sent a few as postcards. I love postcards. I have several regular 'Wish you were here' type postcards but have just started making and trading them as art.

More Alphabet challenges

I got a little behind in my challenges. Well, not really, they are almost always done by Monday morning and I'm ready for the next one! I just forget to put them on here for y'all to see.

The challenge for P was "Peaceful" and it had to have a pop-up on it somewhere. What's more peaceful than watching dragonflies among the flowers? Yeah, I know, plenty of things but I like dragonflies so this is what I came up with!

 The Q challenge is - - -  I am the Queen of ____________________ and I'm on a Quest to ____________________......
It took me a week to figure out what I'm the queen of but here I am wearing my overly large crown.

Optimism

The Journal Challenge this past week was the letter O for Optimism. We could only use 2 colors, Ocean Blue and Orange. My first try came out with three colors so back to the drawing board. This is what I finally came up with.

I am and always will be the optimist.
The hoper of far-flung hopes.
The dreamer of improbable dreams.
Dr WHO

Here's the first one I did with the quote in a darker blue.

Here are some pages from my dylusions journal. My first elephant and a crow. It's different having such large pages to fill.

The Crow

The Alphabet Journal Challenge last week was N for Nurture Yourself. Although I completely over looked the yourself part but if we nurture nature doesn't that in turn nurture us? It was suppose to have Neon as well but I don't have any neon paint so I skipped that part.

And the August lottery ATC card.  Which theme I chose 'cause I won the last lottery.  'Faces' (how surprising)!

trees

I painted this tree for my mom. She saw an ATC I painted for a friend and asked me to paint her one. Bigger. It's painted with acrylics on corrugated cardboard. It came out a little too blue for me but she likes it. But then being my mom she likes all my artwork.

18"X25"

This tree is done with acrylics on corrugated cardboard as well.  It scanned a little darker than it really is. I like it. Guess you can tell I'm a tree hugger lover.

 9"X13"

This owl is something I started a while ago and just got back to. It's still a work in progress. It's just progressing slowly. The owl is done in acrylics and the background is done with water colors. It's painted on loose canvas. I'm not sure why I ever bought canvas sheets to begin with. Journal covers maybe?

9"X12"
And naturally I have to draw a face, with bad hair and one eye. Same as always!
