Busy Busy Busy

I've been busy creating. I did four Artist Trading Cards. Not for anything in particular just because I felt like  it. They are all done with watercolors and a pen as well as the love one is partial collage.

A Partridge in a pear tree. (I know a partridge doesn't really look like this). Guess I'm thinking Christmas on this one or maybe I'm just wishing for a little cold weather!
I didn't realize that this is the same bird as the one above. Maybe it's the off season.
This one is drawn totally from some Googled clip art. Yes I copied. I was feeling the way this Raven looks. ouch,

This one is because my sister is getting married in a few months.

I also did a couple of journal pages. I was going to do a face on this first one but she looks pretty good without one so I left it off.

Don't know where this came from although I keep telling my son this.

The New School Marm. (Ma'am)  I took a face I drew on lined paper, cut it out, put it on my page then used water soluble crayons. I think my faces are getting better, maybe.
This is from earlier but I HAD to put an owl on the blog. Have I said I love owls? Well, I love owls!

Ladybug

These past few days I haven't really been in the mood to create anything. Actually I haven't been in the mood to do anything. My house is a pit, my laundry is piled high, I could grow veggies in the dust and my dog is dirty.
BUT . . . . . today I grabbed a journal page with a background already on it and painted these flowers.

Barnyard critters

Going through my stash I found these cutesy barnyard clips from an old calendar. Now I have some cutesy barnyard ATC's.

This is the picture on my internet page - sort of.

These next two are journal pages. Tried another face. Along with a really bad bird in an un-gilded cage. Bad mojo this past week. Oh well.

pfffttttt

She's only a bird in a gilded cage, a beautiful sight to see
You may think shes happy and free from care
She's not though she seems to be
Tis sad when you think of her wasted life for youth cannot mate with age
And her beauty was sold for an old man's gold
She's a bird in a gilded cage.

I don't know who sang this.I'm not quite that old! I believe it was from the 40's.

Two ATC's

The ATC group I'm in (ATC FUN) has a lottery each month.
This month's theme is 'What I can't live without'.
I decided to join but ended up with two cards instead of one so I guess the winner can choose the one they like best.

My first face

I have been sketching faces for a few months now. I finally decided to try to paint one of them. So here's the "Flapper". She's looking a little 'snooty' but I think I did fairly well. Had some trouble with the skin tones. Need more practice. The other two I was just messing around but I kind of like them. These are journal pages.

Be Inspired

I've learned so much from my mistakes I'm thinking of making a few more.

sleepless

I woke up at 4:30 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep so I got up and worked on a journal page in my collage journal. It didn't scan very well. Most likely operator malfunction!

Maybe I'm not finished with it, then again maybe I am.

New Journal Pages

Here are three new journal pages I did over the last couple of days. I'm beginning to like doing collage's although I don't have a lot of collage material. I'm still not very good at it. I think I need to take a class!

This is a watercolor background with the music, butterfly and words collaged on.

Watercolor and pen. I thought this needed something so I added the cat but ?
Saturday was my 57th 39th birthday. My mom baked my favorite sour cream cake. Yum!

Babes in the wood

OK, so it isn't really the woods just a Sycamore tree in my yard but I discovered a birds nest right outside my door. The birds must have been really sneaky cause I never noticed. (Unobservant? Who me?) They've been dive bombing the cats so I knew there was a nest close. Anyway, here a few photos of the new residents. Naturally they are Mockingbirds because they are the only ones brave enough to be here with all the hawks and owls that moved in.

I've only seen three. I'm thinking that there aren't any more. Unfortunately they are always facing away from the deck so I can't get a better photo.
One of the adults was close by with a mouthful waiting for me to leave. The babies were impatient but quiet.
Either Mom or Dad. I can't tell one from the other unless I grab my trusty bird book, which is misplaced!
